Calendar Reservations in Fleet Management

Calendar Reservations are a useful method for organizing access to a robot, similar to a meeting room reservation system. They can also be used to allow temporary access to a robot for both Users and Visitors.

User: a member of the fleet (benefits the most from having a Calendar Reservation)
Driver: a member of the fleet that has been given permanent access to a specific robot
Visitor: a non-member with temporary access to a robot

How Calendar Reservations Affect Each Member:
  • Users can have Calendar Reservations scheduled for them to access a designated robot on a specific date and time.
  • Drivers do not need to have reservations because they have permanent access to their robots, but Calendar Reservations are helpful for organization.
  • Visitors are given access to a designated robot on a specific date and time, similar to Users.

Allowing Access to a Robot During Specific Times:
If you would like to "block" a user during certain times (such as at night), this can be achieved by:
  1. Be sure the User is not added as a Driver on the robot.
  2. Using an admin account, schedule reservations for that user to drive the robot every day at the specific times during their access period.
For example, if you would like to have the robot operational only between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, you could schedule reservations like the following:

Robot with Reservation:
When a robot is reserved, you will see a red notice on the map next to the name of the robot:

Calendar Reservations will be displayed on the map screen up to 12 hours in advance.
